Cleaning up DC – with a litter bag

Chloris of the Daily Kos community wrote that the nasty guy hasn’t been seen much in the last few days and there is a lot of speculation about his health. But this isn’t about his health, rather about what may happen if he is no longer able to carry out his duties (or has died). Some thoughts both from the author and from commenters. The powers will prop him up as long as possible. They won’t want to lose their power. If he dies MAGA will demand a state funeral (while the rest of us dance in the streets). What if he’s comatose? Will invoking the 25th Amendment fracture MAGA? What policies would change is speculation. Tax cuts to billionaires would stay. Would the nasty guy’s hatred for windmills remain? What happens to Tariffs? Ukraine? The vice nasty has changed positions so many times there’s no way to guess how he’ll act if he gets into the Oval Office. Will Republicans follow (fear) him as they did the nasty guy? He can still do a lot of damage. Reportedly, Stephen Miller, the author of the current deportation system and a lot of other racist policy, doesn’t get along with the vice nasty. Will he be booted? Most of Mainstream Media is owned by rich guys and that won’t change. But independent media is springing up. MAGA is devoted to the man. If he goes will they stay home in future elections? Will the rest of us stay engaged once he’s gone? Republicans will still be there and in power. If he dies MAGA will claim the “deep state” offed him. And the big question: How can the rest of us plan to take advantage of the situation? Oliver Willis of Kos wrote that the “military invasion is cleaning up DC” – as in collecting litter in the National Mall. But safety vests over camo fatigues kinda defeats the purpose of one or the other. Walter Einenkel of Kos reported California Gov. Gavin Newsom had a response to the nasty guy’s threat of sending troops to Los Angeles and other big cities because crime was so bad. Newsom said:
Mississippi leads the nation as the No. 1 murder state in America. I imagine this, in particular, may resonate with the President of the United States. It's got a murder rate that’s 180%—180%—higher than Los Angeles. It’s interesting, L.A. has more people—these are all per capita numbers. Perhaps the president could deploy the National Guard in every corner of Mississippi. The murder rate is out of control there. Carnage. ... If the president is sincere about the issue of crime and violence, there's no question in my mind that he'll likely be sending the troops into Louisiana, Mississippi, to address the just the unconscionable wave of violence that continues to plague those states.
