A condescending misogynist

There was a debate last night between Kamala Harris and the vice nasty guy. I didn’t watch. If you want a full recap Jessica Sutherland of Daily Kos has it for you. I skimmed through it for the quoted tweets. There was lots of talk about the fly that landed in the VNG’s white hair and stayed for a couple minutes. That prompted a tweet from the Biden campaign, which I’ll let you visit for the great photo of new campaign swag (NPR says they sold thousands). Laura Clawson of Kos wrote about Harris’s facial expressions during the debate. These are expressions that women know well, such as the one they use when they hear mansplaining. Joan McCarter of Kos summarized the debate by saying the VNG was a condescending misogynist and as big a liar as his boss. Wrote McCarter:
The morning after the vice presidential debate between current Veep Mike Pence and Sen. Kamala Harris, the lingering impression is of a patronizing and condescending Pence regularly talking over and ignoring the two accomplished women in the room. Pence repeatedly ignored questions, talked around them, and demanded that Harris not answer the questions given by the moderator, USA Today's Susan Page, but his questions. If the Trump/Biden team was hoping to make any inroads with the as-yet undecided "suburban housewives," Pence blew that all to hell. He was a more bottled-up Donald Trump, but still Trump, steamrolling the debate in a flurry of lies. He delivered them much more smoothly than Trump could, but the same blatant lies, exaggerations, and bulls*** were on full display. ... He was Trump, just a lot paler and able to speak in complete sentences.
Because the nasty guy has COVID-19 the debate commission said the next one would be virtual. The nasty guy said no. He’ll do another rally, otherwise known as a superspreader event. Biden will be there without him. It was to be a town hall event – the audience asking questions – so Biden will do that solo.
