Such a huge fine
Back in January Rev. Maurice Blanchard, a gay Baptist minister, and his partner Dominique James staged a sit-in at a county clerk's office in Louisville because they were denied a marriage license. They were arrested. Their trial was last week. They were convicted in criminal court. Their sentence: a one penny fine. And that only because the judge told the jury a conviction required a fine. It appears the judge then used his discretion and reduced the fine to zero.
